Napoleon’s troops called the Berliner Weisse the “Champagne of the North”. Try Du Nord for a taste of history.
This sour beer is brewed in a traditional way with no hops and a 3 day souring process using wild microbes found on malt, followed by a fermentation by a Brettanomyces yeast strain for a fantastic tart, funky, refreshing beer. Follow the Germans’ lead and add a shot of syrup to cut the sourness and make this beer even more sessionable.
